Making a difference to our local community is at the heart of what Rockhampton Folk Festival is about.
Outreach - help us to bring live music to our community
We recognise that some groups in our community rarely have the opportunity to engage with live performance. So we bring music to them instead.
We have taken artists to perform to over 3000 people in local schools and old people's centres since 2016 - a fantastic experience for them all.
We are a registered charity run entirely by volunteers. We no longer receive grant funding from the Arts Council so have to rely entirely on festival tickets and kind donations. Everything you donate will go directly to support outreach work in our community so please help.

An inclusive festival
We want our festival to be accessible to all, friendly and inclusive. Talk to us if you'd like your group to be involved.
For example we hosted a group of 45 from the Dursley Open Door Club who support local adults with learning or physical disabilities, their families and carers. Here's what they said afterwards :
"Thank you so much for for inviting us to Rockhampton Folk Festival. We all had such a great day.
Everybody was very kind and helpful, and everything we'd planned worked really well."

We work outreach in partnership with Live Music Now who deliver interactive music programmes in community and healthcare settings, for example special schools, where music can make a huge difference to the lives of children and their families. Specialist support and training also provides young musicians with skills and employment at the start of their professional careers.
